      The Fremont Communications Volunteers is a team of unpaid, communications professionals dedicated to serving the City of Fremont, California with public safety and emergency communications in times of disaster or community need. We are organized under the authority of the Fremont Fire Department Communications Division and, in times of disaster, operate within the scope of the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) as provided for by the FCC and FEMA.  As an ARES affiliate, we also provide communications for civic functions.

      When activated by the City's Emergency Operations Center (EOC), members may be assigned to carry out one or more of the following:

Bullet

Staff communications posts at the City of Fremont's EOC or one of several public safety or government agency Field Command Centers (FOC) located throughout the city.
 

Bullet

Report as directed, to various posts such as schools, shelters, and hospitals; or to field teams involved in the City's emergency response and disaster recovery efforts.
 

Bullet

Shadow government officials to provide backup communications.
 

Bullet

Provide communications support to the Red Cross.


Weekly Net

We encourage you to participate in the Tri-Cities' Weekly Net held every Tuesday at 1930 hours (7:30 p.m.) on the 147.015 repeater, positive offset and  PL 103.5.  Visitors are welcome!

Responsibility for the Net is rotated between Fremont, Union City, and Newark (FUN) as follows: 

Newark - January, April, July, October

Fremont - February, May, August, November

Union City - March, June, September, December


Monthly Meeting

Our meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of the month at 1930 hours (7:30 p.m.) at the Fremont Fire Administration Training Room, 3300 Capitol Ave., Bldg "B". Fremont, CA, 94537.

NOTE: Use the repeater's output frequency in simplex, if it is down.
